As an outstanding community school we provide children with the skills that they need to flourish. We focus on strong academic skills balanced with a strong understanding of the needs of the whole child. We place our child at the centre of everything we do and we constantly ‘aim for outstanding’ in every area.
Sinclair is a Community Nursery and Primary School for boys and girls aged 3 – 11 years.
Ofsted say: "The quality of teaching is outstanding and contributes significantly to the high levels of progress made by the pupils."
Our Nursery is housed in its own dedicated building, with extensive specialist designed outdoor learning environment. The Nursery is adjacent to the Reception classes, and the remainder of the school is in one purpose built space.
There is one mixed ability class in each year group. We have developed a skills based curriculum in order to excite and engage the children in their learning. We are committed to enriching the curriculum - theme days and weeks are a feature of school life, as are visits by theatre groups and professional artists and musicians. We regularly visit places of interest both within and outside the local area. The children have a wide access to music, with the youngest children taking part in professional ‘developmental music’, Y1 and Y2 learn the recorder, Y3 – 6 all learn an instrument. Additionally we have a drumming academy and a music tech mix club. A wide range of extra- curricular clubs, led by specialists and school staff, are also on offer.
We have a large and friendly high performing staff team and we are committed to ongoing staff development. We are linked to a National Support School, our Executive Headteacher is a National Leader of Education and our staff regularly support other schools. She also works as a supporting Headteacher and Ofsted Inspector and is well supported by a strong staff including a Head of School.Visit Site View Jobs
